Bunny the Lovey | Westport Family Photography
A crazy fun session with a crazy fun family and their crazzzzy two year old who kept sitting in my lap. Good for the soul, not as much for the pictures. Thanksfully, Lovey the Bunny did a lot of help taking these pictures. I think she did a great job, don't you? Enjoy!

the finding | orange county family photographer
Sometimes I wonder how people find me. Most often, it's word of mouth. I love that, because I love my clients, and their friends are just as amazing as they are. But I do get a bunch of Google hits and I always worry about whether we'll click. So when this mama told me that she chose me because of my logo (she liked my work and all, but there has to be a tipping point, right?) I knew we'd get along. And then I saw her home--its clean lines and cool paint colors--and knew we could be friends. Plus, her kids are ADORABLE. Ridiculously adorable, right? I can't wait to visit again!

So the hardest thing about little kid sessions is getting toddlers to stay put. The hardest thing about this big-kid session? Getting them to stop goofing around. It was also the best thing. Evidence: a cocktail in Beth's hand, the family practicing their gang signs, and the general cracking up.

Shayna Punim | Hudson Valley Family Photography
So it might be weird for me to attach a Yiddish phrase to an Indian family, but I couldn't think of a more perfect way to describe this pretty face. I mean, seriously... Look at those cheeks. Those eyes! Those hysterically crazy faces (which are straight out of my daughter's wheelhouse). And can we discuss her little brother's hair? It had a personality to match his big, generous smile, no? I was so honored that this family was willing to travel to the Hudson Valley for this shoot and brave the cold weather and still smile. I can't wait to photograph them on their home turf this summer!

Tiki Daddy
Remember that super cool band photo I posted last year? Well I'm finally getting around to posting more from the fabulous Tiki Daddy shoot. It was styled by the extremely talented Raquel Vidal, who has an orange bouncing ball on her website. Need I say more. Heather Canavan, who's worked for some serious glam magazines and even won an Emmy for her makeup lent us her mad skills (if you're thinking of hiring makeup for your wedding or headshots, contact her!!) and loads and loads of creative input and agony from the esteemed band members. Ahem, John Harms, I'm looking at you! Anyhow, to properly this story in photographs, first click here for your sound track!!

gerber baby | ulster county newborn photography
This session was awesome for 3 reasons:
1) When I told this new mom that her baby was just like a Gerber Baby, she shot back: "Cuter." Oh how I love hanging with sassy ladies, and with the way this baby girl can stare a lens down, I'm betting she got that trait.
2) The session was a gift my OBGYN bought her son and daughter-in-law on the occasion of her first grand baby. Now, anyone who knows me well--and many who don't--know that I love my doctor, who stayed with me, on her day off, during my entire second labor. She was part doctor, part midwife, part cheerleader. Plus loads of other positive nouns that I can't think of right now. I am forever in her debt for that experience and I'm so glad to be a part of this moment.
3) Get this: New dad/ob's son used to live down the street from me and some of my best friends from childhood babysat him. This fact is both super cool and super sad-making, cause that means I'm old. But I going with the super cool. Now check out the most ridiculously cute baby:

brrrrrr | hudson valley family photographer
I'm working on my own New Year's Resolution: blog more. I fail every year, but what do they say? Try, try again? Anyhow. I'm feeling the cold, so today, I offer up this adorable Snow Angel. Snow Fairy? Snow Witch? Only her mom can say.
